Every Wednesday, FOX13 Chief Meteorologist Joey Sulipeck will welcome an aspiring weather forecaster to FOX13 News to be a KidsCaster on live TV!

If you're a kid between 7-12 years old, create a 30 second to 1 minute audition video where you forecast the weather from the comfort of their own home. Make sure you have an adult help you with this! Then, have a parent submit the audition video below.

One child is chosen each week from among online auditions. The segments air Wednesdays on FOX13 News at 5pm, and will be available to watch anytime on MyFoxMemphis.com.

Who Can Enter

1. Entrants must be legal Tennessee, Arkansas or Mississippi residents who are 18 years of age or older have lawful access to the Internet and a valid e-mail address, and are the parent or a legal guardian of a child between the ages of 7 and 12 years old as of 9/30/11.

2. Employees of Fox Television Stations, Inc., owner of television station WHBQ, and Sonic (collectively, “Sponsor”), their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family and household members of each are ineligible.

How To Enter

3. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Only one entry per email per week. The contest begins at 5:00 p.m. local time on every Thursday beginning 9/15/11and all entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. local time on the following Wednesday with the final weekly entry period ending on 12/14/11. Unselected entries will carry over to subsequent weekly judging periods.

4. To enter, go to www.myfoxmemphis.com and follow the links to the weather page and click on the “KidsCast” link. The parent or legal guardian must follow all instructions to complete the online entry, including uploading a video of their child doing a “mock weather forecast.” The video should consist of the child delivering a typical weather report, including current and upcoming weather conditions, and does not need to be professionally cut or edited. The video must be between 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Shorter or longer videos will be disqualified. Parents may submit a video of siblings in a single entry to nominate both of their children. Entries will remain in consideration for the duration of the Contest Period. No incomplete entries will be accepted.

All submissions must conform to Sponsor’s then-current standards and practices and policies as established or determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Without limiting the foregoing, submissions may not contain profanity or references to violence, or demean any gender, race, religion or sexual orientation. Entrants must own the copyright to, or otherwise have all necessary rights in, their entry materials. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or remove any entry based on a claim of copyright infringement. Entry constitutes an unlimited perpetual license to Sponsor to use entry materials, including, but not limited to, the right to copy, distribute, publicly perform and display the entry materials on its websites, television stations and in any and all media whether now known or hereinafter invented.

5. Sponsor is not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry, winner(s) or other giveaway information by Sponsor or entrants for any reason whatsoever. Sponsor is also not responsible for any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any materials in the giveaway or for entries that are late, misdirected or incomplete. All entry materials may be maintained as part of WHBQ’s giveaway records. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE GIVEAWAY IS A VIOLATION OF THE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the giveaway if it becomes technically or otherwise corrupted.

6. One (1) winner will be selected by Sponsor each week during the Contest Period based on the child’s clear speech and presentation of the weather forecast.

The Prize(s)

7. Each weekly winner will have the opportunity to have their child or legal ward win a personal Weather Experience at WHBQ (i.e. visiting with the weather personalities, taking a tour of the studio and equipment) and video record a video clip forecasting the weather, part of which will be played during the Wednesday 5p weathercast on FOX13 Television. The video will be hosted in its entirety on www.myfoxmemphis.com’s KidsCast page. The prize has no retail value.

8. The winner will be notified by phone each week of the Contest Period. The winner(s) will be required to complete, sign and return a Certification of Eligibility and Release and claim the prize in a manner determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion within 2 days of the date of notification or they will be disqualified. If the winner cannot be reached, or if a winner does not return the signed and completed Certification of Eligibility and Release and claim the prize within the designated time period, an alternate winner for that week will be awarded.

9. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for any other items by the winner(s). The winner(s) cannot assign or transfer prize.

10. The winner(s) is responsible for all local, county, state, and federal taxes on prizes based on the value of the prizes set forth in these rules.

11. Only one prize will be awarded per household. Individuals are eligible to win only one prize within any 30-day period, regardless of the number of giveaways entered.

Odds of Winning Miscellaneous

12. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received and the speech ability and presentation of the child’s weather forecast.

13. Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use winners’ names, hometowns, likenesses, and photographs for broadcast, online posting, and/or any other media, including for advertising and publicity purposes, without additional compensation.

16. This giveaway is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law, including without limitation, in jurisdictions requiring registration, filing, trust account, or posting of a bond, or any other requirements or disclosures that are not expressly satisfied by these rules. Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, offering, or administration of the giveaway, or in the announcement of the prize.

17. By entering, participants represent that they are eligible, and agree (a) to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges, (b) to release Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize, and (c) to Sponsor’s use of entrants’ personal information as described in the Privacy Policy located at www.myfoxmemphis.com.
