Police: Michigan man fatally shot in road rage incident

Posted: Updated:
GENOA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) - A Michigan man was fatally shot in an apparent road rage incident Tuesday afternoon.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department says the apparent case of road rage started when both motorists were headed eastbound on Grand River. The dark-blue truck passed the silver Ford Escape. The vehicles then came to a stop at Chilson and, we're told, a 43-year-old man from Howell got out of his SUV and confronted the driver in the truck.

That's when, we're told, the 69-year-old truck driver pulled out his gun and shot the man in the head.

Witnesses say the wife of the victim, who was in the car at the time, came running up to her husband but it was too late. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Authorities are continuing to investigate.
