Parents of young children traveling alone on American Airlines will soon have to pay more money for their kids' solo trips.
Beginning Wednesday, American will require children between the ages of 5 to 14 to use the unaccompanied minor service.
The service costs an additional $150 for a one-way ticket.
American Airlines used to allow kids twelve and older to fly by themselves.
As part of the service, unaccompanied minors are escorted to their departure gates and put on the plane. They're also supervised on their arrival.
