A 3-year-old boy nearly drowned at a community pool in Powder Springs, but a neighbor came to the child’s rescue.
Bermann Francois was at home with his wife when one of their children rushed in to let him know that a neighbor needed help.
Francois ran to the community pool and noticed someone doing chest compressions on a child.
Francois is a Cobb County firefighter, trained and certified to perform CPR.
Francois took over and roughly ten minutes later felt a pulse.
Police eventually arrived and medics took the child to Children’s Healthcare at Egleston Hospital.
The child’s parents are thankful Francois came to his rescue.
“They are very very appreciative for what I was able to do for them,” said Francois. “But, that’s what I’m trained to do and that’s what I do every day at my job.”
