A popular restaurant suffered extensive damage after a fire early Friday in west suburban Naperville.
At 2:17 a.m., about 50 firefighters responded to Grandma Sally’s Waffle House, 450 E. Ogden Ave., according to fire officials and a statement from the Naperville Fire Department.
Crews found heavy fire and smoke emitting from the roof of the restaurant, fire officials told reporters at the scene. At about 5 a.m., the fire was struck out.
The damage to the building was extensive and is estimated to be approximately $400,000, the fire department said.
Neighboring agencies from Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, Lisle-Woodridge, Lockport, Plainfield, Wheaton and Winfield also assisted in putting out the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
