PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi has been in a Mexican prison for months. He says it was all an accident.

He allegedly crossed the Mexican border with three guns in his car this past March. He was arrested and has been in the prison ever since.

Now a valley Marine is raising money for his cause.

"I wanted to do something to help my brother out, we have a strong saying, "You never leave a Marine behind." said Adam Hanye.

Adam is devoted to his brotherhood and the Marine Corps., he felt something had to be done to help free Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi so he decided to make t-shirts to support the cause.

"I have these "Bring Back Our Marines" shirts, I came up with the idea in April when I heard about Sgt. Tahmooressi," said Hanye.

The t-shirts are $10 and all the proceeds will go to his family.

"Once you're a Marine, you're always a Marine. It really, truly, is a brotherhood and when one Marine needs help, every Marine past, present, and future will come help," he said.

Tahmooressi suffers from PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder, and was reportedly beaten, stripped naked, and chained to a bed in Mexico. Adam is hoping this small effort will yield big results for his cause.
