CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Oak Lawn residents are cleaning up Monday morning after heavy rains hit the southern suburbs this weekend.

In that area, high pressure in the sewer system from localized flooding caused sewage waste caps to pop off the ground, according to one resident.

Kenneth Skertich says that raw sewage could be seen in the parking lot at Oak Lawn Bible Church.

A number of basements in Oak Lawn were also flooded. One resident says this has been the sixth time in the past 10 years that their basement has sustained flood damage.

Maintenance crews are looking into the issue.
