    September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness month. Doctors and nurses at Phoenix Children's Hospital, where many young patients are treated, created quite the "buzz" on Tuesday, making a "bald" statement to raise money for research. FOX 10's Anita Roman reports.

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - As the nation celebrates its independence, dozens of active duty immigrants celebrated their new citizenship.

The ceremony took place at the White House, welcoming the active duty military men, women, and their spouses as American citizens.

The new citizens represented 25 countries of immigrants.

Here in the valley there are 200 new citizens, they took an oath of allegiance at a special ceremony Friday morning.

It's a day they will never forget, 200 people took the oath of allegiance to become America's newest citizens.

The special naturalization ceremony took place at South Mountain Community College.

"It's a great day, yeah a very great day," said one new citizen.

"I'm so proud to be an American," said another new citizen.

The 200 new citizens come from 54 countries, and they're not alone. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service welcomed 9,000 new citizens during more than 100 naturalization ceremonies across the country.

This ceremony is part of the service's annual celebration of Independence Day.
