    Chief Hilton Napoleon announced his decision effective Friday in a letter after more than three years on the job. In the letter, Napoleon said he's been working under "extreme" conditions and the "lack of resources and adverse working conditions has taken its toll."  Napoleon says the July 1 slaying "makes my decision that much easier."

    They rallied to stop the violence in Inkster Sunday after a triple shooting that claimed a two year old girl's life. Her father and a 12-year-old girl are still recovering from gunshot wounds and two suspects are in custody.

    A second suspect now faces murder charges in the Inkster shooting that left a 2 year old dead and her father and a 12-year-old girl shot and injured. But, police released a third suspect who was also taken into custody.

INKSTER, Mich. (WJBK) - A 2-year-old girl is dead after three people were shot on Carlysle Street in Inkster, according to Michigan State Police.

FOX 2's Roop Raj reports that a man, his 2-year-old daughter and his 12-year-old niece were sitting on their porch in the 30000 block of Carlysle when a person walked by opening fire at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The 2-year-old was shot in the head and died from the injuries. The 12-year-old girl is in critical condition. The adult male victim is in serious condition.

The shooting happened at Parkside Estates, which is near the intersection of Henry Ruff Street and Michigan Avenue. Michigan State and Inkster police say they are searching for the shooter and a white Hyundai.
