A Phoenix man was going to the bathroom this morning when the floor caved beneath him, causing his leg to dangle into the apartment below.

Michael Patrick says his head hit the toilette on the way down. He called his wife Christina for help. She called 9-1-1, and operators advised her to leave him in the hole until paramedics arrived at the condo near 31st avenue and Bell.

Patrick says fire fighters had to cut him out of the floor. He went to the hospital to be treated for scrapes and bruises. He should be okay, but as for living in their condo, the couple says, that is down the toilet.

"The floor has been caving in. There's so many problems in this condo. It’s bad," says Patrick.

Patrick says he now has a messy problem with his landlords on his hands. He says the condo owner refuses to fix the faulty floor. Calls to the condo owner for comment have not been returned.
