PHOENIX (KSAZ) -  John Huppenthal was in tears Wednesday after he admitted to writing blog posts that some claim are racist

Those posts came to light in part due to the efforts of Bob Lord. Lord is a lawyer and blogger who contributes to BlogForArizona.net a liberal blog.

Huppenthal blogged there often using the names Thucydides and Falcon9.

"Somebody noticed that the comments defended Huppenthal often, and one provided details of his childhood friends, this is something that took place 45 years ago, how many commenters would know John Huppenthal's childhood friends.

That seemed strange, so they examined the posts even more closely.

"Then it was just a matter of connecting dots, there were IP addresses from which the comments came that tracked back to the department of education.

There are websites that will do the tracking for you. It's like a reserve phone directory where if you have a phone number and trace back to the name of the person using that phone.

Huppenthal apologized and said what he wrote isn't what's in his heart. Lord isn't buying it.

"Well, I think he needs to kind of be honest at this point and I don't see it yet," he said.
