Mississippi (FOX13) - Next week is the run-off election in Mississippi.

Incumbent U.S. Senator Thad Cochran and Chris McDaniel are campaigning with some political heavyweights to try and win votes.

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum joined McDaniel on the campaign trail Thursday.

The former republican presidential candidate talked about the importance of family and the changes on the nation.

McDaniel says it's time for a change in Washington.

Mcdaniel says, “Your country is seventeen-point-five trillion dollars in debt. It owes two-hundred-trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities. It borrows forty-six cents out of every dollar. It's time for the adults to enter the room and make reasonable decisions for a change. We've got to balance the budget. It starts right here."

Cochran plans to campaign with former presidential candidate and U.S. Senator John McCain near Biloxi, Mississippi on Sunday.

The runoff election is Tuesday.
