A man died Wednesday after being involved in a motorcycle crash last week in northwest Indiana.

Jeremy Weir, 39, died at 4:41 p.m. Wednesday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Weir was driving a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on State Road 2 near Old State Road 2 near Valparaiso, Ind., when he lost control and crashed about 10:45 p.m. June 13, according to the Porter County Sheriff’s office.

The motorcycle went into a ditch and struck a fence at the edge of a field before coming to rest, according to a police report.
