DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) - Sovereign Citizen and Moorish National Tabitha Gentry, who was convicted in April of hitting two Memphis Police officers with her car during a traffic stop in 2012, was sentenced to 14 years in jail on Wednesday, the maximum sentence prosecutors were pushing for.

A Shelby County Criminal Court jury convicted Gentry on three charges, including aggravated assault against the two officers.

Her sentence includes six years for each of the two counts of aggravated assault on the officers and two years for intentionally evading arrest.

Criminal Court Judge James Lammey, Jr. also gave Gentry an additional 10 days in jail for contempt of court for making comments aloud during the sentence proceeding, a Shelby County District Attorney's Office spokesman said.
