BARTLETT, Tenn. (FOX13) - One 45-year-old man died and four others were injured in a three vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Bartlett, a Shelby County Sheriff's spokesman said. Two vehicles collided and rolled over in the crash.

The traffic accident took place just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Billy Maher Road and Daybreak Drive just north of Bartlett Elementary School.

An investigation revealed that Eugene Delong, who was operating a black Chevy Avalanche, which was traveling westbound on Daybreak, disregarded a stop sign entering Billy Maher, the sheriff's spokesman said.

The Avalanche struck a Chevy Silverado in the right side that was traveling north on Billy Maher. The Silverado had two people inside.

After impact both vehicles spun and rolled over.

Delong was pronounced deceased at the crash site, the sheriff's spokesman said.

A third vehicle nearby with two passengers was struck by the Silverado.

A female passenger in a third vehicle was taken to Regional One Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.
