DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) - A Pontotoc County, Miss., Sheriff's deputy who Memphis Police say shot a man on Beale Street in April, was indicted by a Shelby County grand jury.

Deputy John Logan, who is out on bond, was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault using a firearm during a felony and carrying a prohibited weapon.

Memphis Police investigators say the Mississippi sheriff's deputy shot Mark Martinez on Beale Street, who was allegedly fondling a friend.
