Posted: Updated:
SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. - Three girls are safe after an abduction attempt in the San Tan Valley.  The Pinal County Sheriff's Office says a woman allegedly took the three young girls from their San Tan Valley home.

Deputies say that 44-year-old Veronica Frances Aleksiejczyk Rivera took two of the girls, who are sisters, away from the home, along with another girl who is not related.

Rivera is the biological mother of the two sisters, but her parental rights were severed.

The girls were found safe near Stapley & Southern. Police have detained the woman and a man who was driving them.

The missing girls were identified as 16-year-old Paityn Randell, 12-year-old Jessyka Randell, and 12-year-old Miracle Hernandez.

Authorities were concerned about one of the girls, who had a medical condition that was considered life threatening.

An Amber Alert was issued to help locate the girls. Investigators have not determined whether either adult will face charges.
