There are more questions of U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran's ability to beat challenger, Mississippi State Sen. Chris McDaniel in the state's Republican primary runoff slated for June 24.

This time it isn't McDaniel who is posing those questions. Sen. Cochran (R-Miss.) seemed very confused in an interview with Fox News after a reporter asked him after an unexpected primary victory in Virginia on Tuesday where Tea Party-backed economics professor David Brat defeated House Majority Eric Cantor, the second most powerful man in the House.

The Cochran camp castigated print reporter Molly Ball for her article which related a meeting where Sen. Cochran didn't remember Ball only 30 minutes after an interview with her.

As for Sen. Cochran's race against State Sen. McDaniel, the latest polls show the him trailing the Tea Party-backed candidate by eight points.
