Father of missing Detroit toddler arrested in Atlanta
A Detroit man wanted in connection with the death of his wife and the disappearance of his 2 children is sitting in the Fulton County Jail.
Erin Justice was arrested by FBI agents and transported to the Fulton County Jail on a Fugitive From Justice charge Wednesday night. Detroit Police are en route to Atlanta to pick him up.
On June 10, authorities say Justice voluntarily spoke with FBI agents in Atlanta about the suspicious death of his wife in Detroit. The body of Alicia Fox was located in an abandoned home in Detroit after a brief search Monday. Authorities say Fox and her children had been missing for a "couple of weeks." A Missing Persons Alert for her was distributed to media the Tuesday after she was discovered.
Fox's two small children are still missing. The children, 8-month-old son Kristian Justice and 6-year-old daughter Kaylah Hunter went missing around the same time as their mother. However, an Amber Alert has not been released for the children because authorities say "the alert did not meet the proper criteria." Police are still searching for them, at this time.
Justice has been charged with murder. And investigators from the Detroit Police Department are interviewing him in hopes he will lead them to the missing children. In a press conference, authorities say they have charged a 22-year-old man as an assessory to the crime on Wednesday. They also say investigators located evidence related to the crime at the home shared by Fox and Justice.
Police do not know why Justice was in Atlanta.
No further details were immediately available.
