Police Search For Suspects Accused Of Stealing From Local Non-Profit

Posted: Updated:
CLEMENTON, N.J. -

Police say they are searching for four men who are accused of using a truck to steal from a local non-profit.

On May 31st, the Clementon Youth Athletic Association held their 2nd annual block party, which was complete with a bounce house and dunk tank. However, when the party shut down four thieves moved in under the cover of darkness and stole the deflated bounce house and dunk tank, according to police.

“Obviously sick, thinking it's a big joke and have no care in the world, obviously," said Clementon Councilwoman Christine Nucera.

Authorities believe the suspects used a grey or silver Dodge Dakota pickup truck to haul away a $3,000 dunk tank and a $1,800 bounce house.

“Four guys get out with flashlights, empty the water out of the dunk tank,” said Nucera. “Places it in the back of the truck also pick up the deflated bounce house and put that in the truck.”

Fox 29 obtained surveillance video from Perks Pine Hill Market that caught the truck passing by with the dunk tank in the back, minutes after the robbery.

The real heartbreak here is for the kids who use the ball fields in town. The Clementon Youth Athletic Association paid for the bounce house and dunk tank as part of a fundraiser. If it's not recovered, the CYAA may have to come up with the money to replace them.

The CYAA helps about 200 kids, ages 4 through 10, Councilwoman Nucera is hoping someone will spot the stolen items and call police.

“I don’t understand why someone would do that. Why hurt the children,” she said.
