Five men have been charged with illegally importing male enhancement products into Atlanta.

Ismail Khan, 26, Arbab Salim, 27, Hardik Desai, 24, Natenael Zeyid, 34, and Ahmed Khan, 37, were charged Thursday for importing mislabeled products from China. The products contained the active ingredient in Viagra which can only be obtained in the United States after being prescribed by a licensed physician.

In a news release, officials said the products’ street names included: “Maxman,” “Herb Viagra,” “Rock Hard Weekend,” “Stiff Nights,” “Happy Passengers,” “Hard Ten Days” and “Zhen Gongfu.”

According to the United States Attorney’s Office, the defendants directed their suppliers to mislabel the boxes containing the products to make it appear as though the boxes contained items that were legal to import, such as coffee and tea.

The illegally imported products were shipped to multiple addresses in the Atlanta area. The defendants rented storage units at various locations where they repackaged the illegal products for distribution to retail and wholesale stores in Atlanta and throughout the U.S.

The defendants have transferred more than $2 million in U.S. currency to bank accounts in China to pay for illegally imported merchandise.

“The laws the defendants are charged with violating are intended to protect consumers from unknowingly using products that might cause serious side effects. Along with our law enforcement partners we will vigorously prosecute individuals who violate the food and drug laws in the way these defendants allegedly did,” said United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates.
