58-Year-Old Man Killed In Camden Hit-And-Run On Memorial Day

CAMDEN, N.J. - Camden County police need your help to find the driver who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian.

The victim was struck around 3:30 p.m. Monday on the 1500 block of Pershing Street and rushed to Cooper University Hospital but died of his injuries.

Police have now identified the victim as 58-year-old Lawrence Stark.

Witnesses say the driver stopped briefly after hitting stark, but then drove away.

The description police are releasing is either a black or dark blue SUV that likely has some kind of damage.

This occurred in the Whitman Park area of Camden, within about a minute's walk of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Haddon Avenue runs along here, and so does PATCO's High-Speed Line. Commuters would be able to look out the window and see what happened on Pershing Street.
