NWS To Investigate Possible Tornado In Kent County, Del.

Posted: Updated:
KENT COUNTY, Del. -

The National Weather Service is expected to arrive in Wyoming, Kent County Friday morning to determine exactly what type of storm ripped through the area Thursday evening.

State police say around 5 p.m. several people reported seeing a funnel cloud in the area of Fox Hole and Darling Farm roads.

Torrential rain and damaging winds ripped through homes, in some cases, blowing the roof off.

Officials say about 10 to 15 homes are damaged and they expect about five of those will be condemned.

Two people, a 51-year-old man and 51-year-old woman suffered minor injuries. The man was rescued after being buried under debris outside his home.

The message we want to put out is to stay away from the away because there are some hazards to the area. Down trees, downed wires and as you can see there's debris all over the area.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley is reporting live for us Friday morning in the Camden-Wyoming area.
