MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) - - Chastain Montgomery is scheduled to be in court this afternoon.

MORE: Chastain Montgomery Timeline

He's accused of gunning down two postal workers in Henning Tennessee back in 2010.

He’s pleaded not guilty in the case but a US Justice Department spokesperson tells FOX13 there could be a possible change of plea.

Earlier this year a judge ruled he was mentally competent to stand trial and decided that Montgomery’s confession to investigators could be used at trial.

He told investigators he “lost his head" when there wasn't any money at the post office and then reportedly confessed that he fired the first shots. The resulting barrage of bullets killed Paula Robinson and Judy Spray.
