MARSHALL COUNTY, Miss. (FOX13) - The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigators are searching for three men who terrorized a Marshall County family last weekend.

The Lake Center family bound with duct tape, robbed, and the mother was sexually assaulted in the brutal home invasion.

MBI investigators were at the scene most of the day Tuesday, going through the two cars taken during the home invasion.

The home invasion happened off of Higdon Road, according to the sheriff's department, leaving the people in the community on edge.

"Somebody kicks your door in and ties your kids up as well, and what happens inside is a terrible crime," said Marshall County Sheriff Chief Investigator Kelly McMillen. "We need to get this solved, as soon as possible. These individuals are armed and dangerous."

The mother, father and kids who live here were all tied up with black duct tape.

McMillen said as quickly as they got them tied up with duct tape, they began to assault the adult male with a pistol and question him about where his money was. Two of the suspects moved the female to a different area of the residence where they sexually assaulted her.

According to Marshall County Sheriff, one of the children broke free and ran to the neighbor’s house.

"I heard the baby banging on the door, 'Come help me! We been robbed,'" said Danny Hankins, neighbor. "Got over there and they were hogtied on the floor naked."

The thieves reportedly took the family's money, flat screen TV, video games and even stole the family's Volkswagen Jetta and BMW, the sheriff's office said. The Jetta was recovered in Marshall County and the BMW was recovered after it was pursued to Memphis by Olive Branch Police.

Both cars are currently being processed by MBI.

If you can assist you are urged to contact the Crime Stoppers of North Central Mississippi at 1-800-729-2169.
