FORREST CITY, Ark. (FOX13) - It's not the typical story we report out of Forrest City, but these seniors are proof. Good stuff is happening over there. And maybe sometimes the bad just overshadows all the good.

Three Forrest City High seniors, Briuana, Tajuan, and Alex are days away from graduating and heading off to college. They're all in the top 10 percent of their class, and all have scholarships to help pay the way.

"At first I found out I was accepted to Dartmouth and then a few minutes later I was accepted into Harvard, I was like oh my goodness, I cried," said Briuana.

Briuana will be majoring in psychology when she heads to Harvard in August. Tajuan is heading off to the University of Central Arkansas to study English, while Alex is going to Arkansas. All credit their high school for paving the way.

“I really don't have a favorite teacher, all of them are my favorites, they all influenced me and helped me to get to where I am now," said Tajuan.

They also want the rest of us to know that there are more students just like them right around every corner; Hard working students that often get a bad rap because of a few bad seeds.

"Most people around here are really good people and the outside people looking in they see the stereotypes and judge us before actually getting to know us," said Briana.

“Our school quote is focus on the positive things; all the negative things have died," said Tajuan.

And all three plan on coming back after college, opening up their own law firms and clinics to give back to Forrest City, and show others that anything is possible.

All three will be graduating on Friday, May 16.
