CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. -
One man is recovering at a local medical center after being shot by a Carroll County Sheriff's Deputy on Friday morning.
The shooting happened on Levans Road in Temple.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff's office, the man was shot by a deputy after allegedly running out of his home "screaming with an ax."
Authorities say the suspect broke a window when deputies arrived on the scene. The suspect ran behind the resident and the officer began to pursue to suspect. He then began to swing his ax at the deputy which is when the deputy fired at the suspect.
The suspect was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center and he's in critical condition, at this time.
The deputy was not injured in this situation.
