SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) - Superior Township officials are asking residents to boil their drinking water after a water main break Saturday morning.

These precautionary actions are being taken due to a loss of water pressure following the water main break. Water should be boiled for least five minutes before being used. Bottled water is also a good alternative.

The advisory doesn't apply to any part of the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Campus, but all other areas of the township may be affected.

The boil water notice remains in effect until results from sampling verify the water is safe to drink. Customers will be notified when the advisory has been lifted.
