The Terminator was way ahead of the time back in the 1990s. The robot could see a person's life story flash before his eyes. Now we can do that, too, with SocialRadar paired with Google Glass.
"When you walk into room, or go to an event, or attend conference, if you look at your smart phone or now with Google Glass projected right in front of you, we'll tell you there's 10 people here that you know," says Michael Chasen, the founder and CEO of SocialRadar, a new "near me" app.
The free app is the first of its kind for the Google Glass device. It will be available next week.
So forget about the struggles with making small talk because with Glass you can swipe through and the app will connect you to the person's social feeds so you can see what they're up to.
"Often someone will walk up to me and I don't remember how I know them, and if I had that information on my hand I could see, 'Oh that's Amy from college,'" Chasen says.
SocialRadar users can only see each other once they've signed off on the privacy settings.
"When you install something like this you always have to look at what are the settings and how I can control and protect my privacy," says Lance Ulanoff, editor in chief of mashable.com.
What used to be the future is now the present, so get ready.
