Driver, 2 Men Rescued From SEPTA Bus Stuck In High Water

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Three people had to be rescued from these rising waters surrounding a SEPTA bus late Wednesday night.

The rescue happened in Philadelphia's Manayunk section along the 5000 block of Flat Rock Road.

Police say the water rose as high as six feet around the bus.

A bus driver and two male pedestrians, who had been passing by, got on the roof of the bus to escape the water.

They were rescued by the fire department and taken to the hospital as a precaution.

If you're taking mass transit Thursday, you may want to check in with SEPTA before you head out. Some buses and trains are experiencing delays because of flooding.

SEPTA spokeswoman Heather Redfern joined the FOX 29 Morning News live on Thursday to talk more. You can see that interview in the video clip above.
