Atlanta-Fulton Emergency Management Agency is inviting residents to become trained storm spotters.

The AFCEMA will host a free “SKYWARN” training program on Wednesday.  The program will be offered by the National Weather Service, and will train participants to become trained storm spotters.

During the program residents will be trained in the basics of thunderstorm development, storm fundamentals, severe weather safety, and more.
Training participants can become part of a national network of local communities that provides accurate reports of severe weather.

The program will take place at AFCEMA’s Emergency Operations Center at 130 Peachtree Street, SW, P-Level, Suite G-157, Atlanta, GA 30303.

For more information and to register for the program, please call 404-612-5660 or go to AFCEMA’s website.
