The feeling is electric around the Mid-South as the Grizzlies get ready for Game 3 in their playoff series against the Thunder.

Memphians are capturing that excitement in "selfies." The buzz started online earlier this week as Grizz fans city wide showed their pride.

Inside the FedExForum each seat is covered with special "Believe Memphis" growl towels. Fans got ready Thursday too, posting pictures of themselves in Grizzlies gear with the #GRIZZSelfies.

#GRIZZSelfies was all Memphis Mayor A C Wharton's idea.

"What's the good thing about the Grizzlies, everybody can claim a piece of the Grizz," Mayor Wharton said. "This is what we try to do, whenever we celebrate the Grizz we do it in a way that allows everyone to participate. Ii doesn't take much to do a selfie, everyone can do that."

The Grizzlies are coming off an exciting 111-105 overtime Game 2 in Oklahoma City on Monday night evening the seven-game playoff series at 1-1.

Sportstalk radio has been buzzing leading up to Game 3. WMFS-FM 92.9 ESPN Radio host Chris Vernon says the energy is higher than ever.

"I think people are now feeling the Grizzlies are in a powerful position," Vernon said. "I think it will be rowdy, I do."

Business owners downtown are counting on it being rowdy.

Shawn Danko at Kooky Canuck on South Third says both owners and servers have come to look forward to NBA playoff games, which add to the bottom line.

"It's a 50-percent increaser for us, without a doubt," Danko said. "I can count on it, and I think everyone else downtown can say the same, it's significant."

"Everybody's grizzed out yesterday and today through Saturday and Sunday. No doubt everybody's pumped."
