PHOENIX - Arizona lawmakers sent two bills to Governor Jan Brewer's desk -- one of them -- a controversial bill that would allow people to carry guns into public places like libraries and city halls.

Gov. Brewer hasn't said if she plans to veto or sign the bills, but on Monday at the capitol, one group made a special delivery, hoping to sway her decision.

"No guns at story time" is what the children said when prompted by their parents who are part of a group calling for stricter gun laws, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense.

One bill will allow gun owners with conceal and carry weapon permits to carry firearms into public buildings, if those buildings do not screen others for weapons.

At Monday's event, Caren Teves of Phoenix. Her 24 year-old son Alex was killed in the Aurora, Colorado movie shooting in 2012.

"I feel like more guns, and less restrictions are not working for us right now, I just wanted to remind her this is a public safety issue," said Teves.

Arizona Citizens Defense League is the group pushing these bills, saying guns are carried into public buildings.

"All they have is a sign, signs are not a magnetic force field that eliminates all guns from a place," said John Wentling with ACCL.

If something goes wrong Wentling argues it would be better if someone were armed than if no one were.

"We're talking about permit holders; people have undergone extensive background checks and training," said Wentling.

Wentling believes the Governor will sign both bills.

"we have the most pro second amendment governors in our history on the 9th floor, and we're hoping that she'll do as she's done in the past and protect and defend our rights," said Wentling.
