The Chihuly Collection in St. Petersburg is showing off some new renovations.
They've expanded the museum store where patrons stop in to buy tickets, and do some shopping after their visit.
The result of the work is a larger space with more window room looking out on Beach Drive, and letting more sunlight in.
It all took about six weeks to complete.
Executive Director Andy Schlauch points out the architecture thematically ties the Beach Drive location with the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum in Seattle -- only with Florida touches.
For example, the shelving is made from cypress, and the walls are fashioned from cedar wood native to our state.
If you'd like to check it out, Saturday is a good day to do so: the museum is offering $1 admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
