Dozens of seniors evacuated during apartment fire

DETROIT (WJBK) - An entire high-rise apartment complex was evacuated Tuesday night after a fire broke out.

The Red Cross is now helping between 80 to 100 senior citizens living at the Regency Tower Senior Apartments off Chene Street in Detroit. The tenants had no where else to go during the evacuation.

The two-alarm fire was put out around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

At this time injuries and the cause of the fire is unknown.
