"The thing with Tax Pros, they're individually owned," said Nancy Crawford of the Better Business Bureau of the Mid-South.

The other thing, they have an F rating with BBB. As of now, two complaints have gone unanswered.

"The ones that we do get we respond in a timely manner," said Ricky Greer of Tax Pros, who manages of the Tax Pros in Memphis. "I'll be calling and seeing about the two that weren't responded to."

Here's why his business has an F. One person claims a Tax Pros worker filed his taxes without his permission, and when he complained he claims an employee told him to call 9-1-1.

"Oh we never filed without permission," Greer said. "They have to sign before we can send anything off, so."

"We have heard from some of the complainants that they had problems with them and when they tried to contact them, they company did not return phone calls," Crawford said.

On the Tax Pro sign is a free credit repair offer, which appears to be against the law. In order to offer credit repair you have to be registered.

The BBB of the Mid-South verified that Tax Pros has not registered with the Tennessee Department of Consumer Affairs, and that violates the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act.

Greer told FOX13 News that wasn't true.

"Yeah, yeah, we're going to take that down," Greer said. "We still offer that service but we offer it through a third party."

Speaking of registering, always make sure the person doing your taxes has a government issued identification number, at the very least.

"Or are you dealing with someone who has  more knowledge like a CPA or an enrolled agent?"

Remember, just because a company like Tax Pros does your taxes, anything on that tax return is your ultimate responsibility, Crawford said.

"Anything on that tax return is ultimately your responsibility, so if the IRA finds a mistake, that comes back to you, not the tax preparer," Crawford said.

The IRS has also released what they call the "dirty dozen" tax scams for 2014.
