Eighteen years ago Stevens took home a gold and silver medal in the 1996 Atlanta Summer Games.

"I'm running to help make a difference and promote my platform which is childhood obesity, health and wellness, grassroots programs and education," said Stevens, who retired from professional track competitions in 2000.

In 1999, she started Rochelle's Health and Wellness in Collierville.
