MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

One of the most popular events for women in the Mid-Mouth, the 19th annual Sisterhood Summit and Showcase, is being postponed.

Two former employees for Grace Magazine, which sponsors the event, are in a legal battle.

This lawsuit was filed Monday against two former employees of Grace Magazine, and the lawsuit is worth more than $1 million.

The lawsuit was filed by Christina Stevison, who now runs Grace Magazine and the Sisterhood Showcase. She's suing the magazine's former editor-in-chief, Toni Harvey, and former operations director, Chris Boyd, for intentional interference of Grace Magazine's business, misappropriation of funds, and conversion of property and funds belonging to  Stevison's business.

FOX13 News reached out to the two defendants named in the lawsuit but haven't heard back from them.

Because of the lawsuit, Stevison's lawyer, Odell Horton, Jr., said she needs more time to plan the event, which was scheduled to take place June 6-8 at the Cook Convention Center in Downtown Memphis.

"It's an issue of whether money was spent appropriately for the company or not and there's also an issue of a loan that's outstanding that is owed to Ms. Stevison," Horton said. "So she's asking for that money to be paid back, plus to provide her all her documents and records regarding the business to be returned to her."

The Sisterhood Showcase is a huge event in the Mid-South, bringing in more than 30,000 attendees and 3,000 vendors each year. The event showcases many different things for women including a focus on beauty, health and fashion.

Stevison is postponing the 19th Annual Sisterhood Showcase at the Cook Convention Center. Horton said the two defendants still have documents Stevison needs to plan the event.

"I think Ms. Stevison wants to ensure she puts on a quality event like she's put on in the past," Horton said. "Instead of not having all her records she needs for vendors and sponsors.  She's in the process of asking the court to give that information to her.  Once she gets that, she can move forward and plan for the event."

Horton told FOX13 News the Sisterhood Showcase will likely be held this fall or spring of 2015.
