CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two people were killed and three others were wounded in shootings on the city's South Side Monday, police said.

Most recently, a 26-year-old man was found with two gunshot wounds to the head about 9:30 p.m. in the 11300 block of South Forest Avenue, police said.

Valentino Taylor, of the 1900 block of West Garfield Boulevard, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 9:56 p.m., a representative for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

Earlier Monday evening, a 22-year-old man was found shot in the abdomen and lying in a doorway in the 2500 block of East 84th Street at 6:05 p.m., police said.

Jareem Jackson, of the 8300 block of South Colfax Avenue, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he died at 7:02 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

The most recent non-fatal shooting happened about 7:50 p.m. in the same block where Jackson lived, when a gunman got out of a red car and fired on a 20-year-old man, who ran to the 8400 block of South Kingston Avenue after being shot in the arm, police said.

He was taken to Northwestern Hospital in good condition.

About 6 p.m., a man was critically hurt in a shooting in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood. The man, 27, was shot in the 10100 block of South State Street in what may have been a drive-by attack, police said.

He was shot in the leg and back and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.

Earlier Monday afternoon, a woman was shot in the South Shore neighborhood. The woman, 20, was visiting a relative in the 2400 block of East 74th Street about 2 p.m. when she was shot in the buttocks, police said. Authorities said she was outside at the time, and likely not the intended target.

She was taken to Northwestern Hospital in "stable" condition, police said.

Nobody is in custody for any of the shootings as area detectives investigate.
