Search for missing Hoboken man

Posted: Updated:
NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) - A 27-year-old man from Hoboken, New Jersey has been missing since early Sunday morning. Police are asking for the public's help finding Andrew Jarzyk who was last seen at about 2 a.m. in the area of 5th Street and Monroe Street.

Friends told the local newspaper the Hudson Reporter that Jarzyk had dinner with them at the West Five Supper Club and then went home to change into running clothes. They said Jarzyk is training for a marathon and was likely going for a run.  A neighbor told the paper Jarzyk was seen trying to get into his apartment through the fire escape before he disappeared. He may have gotten locked out of his home.

Jarzyk is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall and approximately 160 lbs.

He has blonde hair, blue eyes and a tattoo of a cross on his rib area with the initials SJLJBJ. He also has a scare on his left cheek and a sizable scar on his shoulder.

He was wearing a black cap, neon green T-shirt, black spandex long sleeve shirt, black spandex pants, black snow gloves and ear buds around his neck.

A family member told reporters on Monday that Jarzyk is not the type of person to leave home without telling anyone and had his younger sister staying with him.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Hoboken Police Department at 201-420-2100 or 201-420-2131.
