The Michigan Cyber Range Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal and external strategic customer engagement plan plan for the Michigan Cyber Range (www.merit.edu/cyberrange# and the Michigan Cyber Corps #www.micybercorps.org#, which would establish relationships and develop markets with customers nationwide. This position is expected to uphold Merit Network's mission and values while working closely with the State of Michigan, Merit members, and industry clients. This position reports directly to Merit's Vice President for Research and Cyber Security in his role as the Director of the Michigan Cyber Range.

Responsibilities

*Implement the recommendations of the strategic marketing plan by creating and maintaining customer relationships.

*Manage specific corporate programs to create and sustain client relationships.

*Perform market research and analysis to identify and engage customers nationwide.

*Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels in line with customer requirements and market evolution.

*Work closely with Merit Network's sales and marketing teams to promote and sell Cyber Range services, classes, and other products.

*Evaluate operational issues to determine whether competitive and staying current with the latest trends in the industry.

*Monitor external and internal environment for development of new market segments and new engagement strategies.

*Assist in or produce feasibility studies/business plans for new product development.

*Develop engagement campaigns for new products and services. This includes formulating a specific budget and expenditure plan for each.

*Development of brochures or other print or electronic ads to market corporate services.

*Responsible for recruitment and orientation of the Michigan Cyber Corps #MCC) in coordination with the State of Michigan.

*Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the training courses, exercise participation, and accountability of MCC members prior to and after activation.

*Responsible for managing the budget of the MCC.

*Assist in developing an on-going guest-relations program for our employees.

*Demonstrate knowledge of, and supports, mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

*Assist in planning and execution of any event that highlights corporate services, to include internal events and external conferences.

*Assist in developing an evaluation process to gain feedback from constituents.

*Perform public speaking to organizations, functions, and committees regarding public relations, marketing and development.

*Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company's CRM.

*Develop and maintain business development budget.

*Ability to attain strong knowledge and expertise in Cyber Range products.

Required Qualifications

*3 years technical sales and marketing experience.

*Experience creating and executing a strategic plans.

*Demonstrated ability to create and manage budgets.

*Experience in research, presentation, and writing.

*Experience in project management.

Desired Qualifications

*Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

*5 years technical sales and marketing experience.

*Experience in cyber security education and training.
