Security changes at Comerica Park for 2014 season

The Detroit Tigers have changed security measures for the upcoming 2014 season.

SECURITY MEASURES

All fans will now walk through metal detectors as they enter Comerica Park. Ticket holders will empty their pockets of keys, cell phones and any other items before going through the metal detector.

Those with a stroller or wheel chair can still enter through a barrier-free gate but will be checked with a hand-held metal detector.

All fans are still subject to bag searches. The bag policy remains the same: purses, soft-sided coolers, backpacks and diaper bags smaller than 16" x 16" x 8" are allowed.

The Tigers recommend ticket holders arrive early to allow time for the new security procedure. Gates open two hours prior to the start of the game.


DRIVING/ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

All streets around the ballpark will now be closed to traffic two hours before the gates open, or four hours before game time.

No one will be permitted to enter the ballpark from the Beer Hall or the Labatt Blue Light Jungle outside doors.
