Washtenaw County (WJBK) -

One day after a Federal Judge struck down Michigan's ban on same-sex marriage, the Washtenaw County Clerk's Office will issue and sign marriage licenses on Saturday.

Fox 2 confirms with Washtenaw County Clerk Lawrence Kestenbaum that his office will be open tomorrow to sign marriage licenses.

The office will be open Saturday at 9 a.m. and close at 1:00 p.m. Kestenbaum says they will only be able to process about 60 licenses.

Kestenbaum says it works like this:

If one member of the marrying couple is a Washtenaw County resident the fee is $20.

If both members of the marrying couple are from out of state the cost is $30.

If both members of the marrying couple are from Michigan, but neither are Washtenaw County residents, they cannot get married in Washtenaw County.

Kestenbaum says he is following the letter of the law.  The office is normally closed on Saturday.

In the meantime, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has filed an emergency request to freeze the ruling that overturns the ban.
