Police: NY music teacher sold instruments for drugs

A music teacher faces theft and drug charges after state police say she pawned school musical instruments to pay for her heroin addiction.

State police say 32-year-old Danielle Conner-Willowglade admits taking up to 50 instruments from the schools and pawning them in Monroe County. Her boyfriend, 32-year-old Nicholas Bump, faces charges as her accomplice. She's charged with grand larceny and both are charged with possession of stolen property and drugs.

Police say the investigation started when a trooper noticed a tuba in the backseat of Conner-Willowglade's car during a routine traffic stop.

She was a music teacher in the Keshequa school district in Nunda, 44 miles southwest of Rochester at the Keshequa elementary and High School and Middle school.

Police have recovered 12 of the instruments and a desktop from local pawn shops.

Conner-Willowglade was charged in Livingston County for 1 count of Grand Larceny 3rd with more charges pending.  She was charged in Monroe County on 1 count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd and 1 count Crim. Poss. Of a Controlled Substance 7th with more charges pending in various towns.

Police say that Bump would accompany her to the pawn shops and the 2 would alternate taking the instruments into the pawn shops.
