DETROIT - Dozens of people turned out for a Detroit protest that's part of an effort in several U.S. cities that organizers say seeks to bring attention to practices that deprive fast-food workers of their wages.

FOX 2's Erika Erickson was there Tuesday as protesters blocked drive-thru traffic at the McDonald's on West Grand Boulevard before dispersing.

The protest is part of an ongoing campaign by labor groups to build support for pay of $15 an hour and bring attention to the rights of low-wage workers.

Detroit has been the site of previous fast-food protests.

Attorneys sued last week in three states including Michigan saying McDonald's was stealing wages in a variety of ways, such as by docking paychecks for the cost of uniforms. McDonald's Corp. has said it planned to investigate the allegations and take necessary action.
