Missing Miss. girl possibly spotted in Memphis; $20K reward

CAMDEN, Miss. (FOX13) -

UPDATE: On Tuesday Memphis Police said they have confirmed a possible sighting of two-year-old Myra Lewis in Memphis at the Discovery Inn on South Third Street in South Memphis.

Myra is the subject of an Amber Alert out of Camden, Miss., 175 miles south of Memphis. She has not been seen since March 1.

A Memphis Police spokeswoman said the police department has notified FBI and Mississippi officials about the possible sighting.

A motel employee told FOX13 News someone saw a man with a little girl and thought she was Myra. The employee says the man in question checked in March 6 and checked out Tuesday around 10:30 a.m.

The motel employee said police took a cleaning lady from the motel in for questioning, but he didn't know why. He also told FOX13 News he handed over surveillance video to police and a copy of the man's identification.

The FBI is now offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information regarding the whereabouts of two-year-old Myra Lewis, who was reported missing by her family on Saturday, March 1.

According to family members, she was last seen between 10:30 and 11 a.m., playing with her sister outside her home on Mt. Pilgrim Road in Camden, Miss.

Since her disappearance was reported, multiple state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies have participated in a massive, collaborative search effort.

Significant resources have been dedicated to this investigation, including extensive ground and air searches, and utilization of specially trained search teams.

"We are confident that information will be uncovered which will lead to Myra's return, and we continue to solicit the public's assistance in locating this little girl," stated FBI Special Agent in Charge, Daniel McMullen.

Myra is 37-inches tall and weighs approximately 27 pounds. She was last seen wearing white or khaki-colored pants, a turquoise sweater with a bear on the front, and pink tennis shoes.

Anyone with information concerning the disappearance of Myra Lewis, is encouraged to call the FBI at 601-948-5000, or the Madison County Sheriff's Department at 601-859-2345.

Camden is 175 miles south of Memphis, Tenn.
