MEMPHIS, Tenn. -

The Memphis Tigers took care of business in their last regular season game, beating SMU 67-58 and honoring seven seniors in the process.

Joe Jackson, Chris Crawford, Michael Dixon, Geron Johnson, David Pellom, Trey Draper and Hippolyte Tsafrack all received standing ovations from a packed FedEx Forum and exacted revenge on a Mustangs unit that beat them earlier in the year by 15.

The Tigers got off to a slow start, struggling to make shots in the first half, and they trailed 30-26 at the break. But as they got out in transition in the second half, shots started to fall.

Three consecutive Chris Crawford (9 points, 4 steals) three-pointers keyed a 17-5 run that put the Tigers ahead for good. Michael Dixon (9 points, 3 assists) and Joe Jackson (18 points, 3 assists) made key baskets and the Tigers never led by less than seven the rest of the way.

Although it was Senior Day, Memphis fans will get at least one more opportunity to cheer for the Tigers. The American Athletic Conference is in Memphis, and begins Wednesday, March 12.
