EAST MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

UPDATE: The 19-year-old, Dewon Avant, is in court this morning facing theft and weapons charges.

According to the police report there was an argument on the first floor of Oak Court Mall before the gunshot.

The 22-year-old victim made it into Ann Taylor Loft to get help.

As first reported, Memphis police arrested four people after the shooting; a 19-year-old and three minors.

They're facing gun and theft charges, but police say those four were friends of the victim.

They fled from the mall in a car and when police pulled them over they found two stolen guns.  

Memphis police are still looking for Otis Reddic. He also goes by the name OJ.

He is charged with attempted first degree murder and seven counts of reckless endangerment.

The victim told officers he knows Reddic.

Detectives are investigating whether this was all linked to a murder at a hickory hill gas station a week ago.

UPDATE: Friday evening Memphis Police identified the suspect who shot a 22-year-old man Thursday evening at the Oak Court Mall in East Memphis.

The suspect's name is 20-year-old Otis Reddic, and an arrest warrant for Reddic has been obtained charging him with one count of Criminal Attempt Felony to wit: First Degree Murder and seven counts of Reckless Endangerment, police said. 

Investigators need help locating this suspect who should be considered armed and dangerous. Call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH if you see Reddic or someone like him.

Police say Reddic  has dreads and was wearing an orange hoodie during Thursday night's mall shooting. The victim told officers he knows Reddic and he goes by the nickname "O.J."

Memphis police officers are still searching for the suspect who shot a man inside the Oak Court Mall Thursday night. Police charged 19-year-old Dewon Avant and two minors with a weapons charge in connection with the shooting.

MPD officers responded to an active shooter call at the mall Thursday night.  One suspect was shot on the first floor of the mall according to an MPD spokesperson.  Police said four suspects were seen driving away from the mall in a white Lincoln Town car.

The suspects were pulled over at the intersection of Tuckahoe and Goodlett near the mall. According to an affidavit of complaint officers discovered a revolver and a semiautomatic handgun in the car.  The weapons were stolen from somewhere in Arkansas.  Dewon Avant is facing theft and gun charges.  Two minors are facing the same charges.  The minor driver was charged for not having a valid license.

Officers determined the shooter was not in the car at the time of the stop.

According to MPD, "the suspects were at the mall with the victim when the shooting occurred; they are not suspects in the shooting. The suspect responsible for the shooting remains at large."

At last check the victim was in critical condition at Regional One.

The Oak Court Mall released the following statement:

"One of the key elements of Simon's comprehensive security program is to maintain a close relationship with local law enforcement authorities. We have a very good relationship with the Memphis Police Department and work side-by-side to make Oak Court Mall safe."

FULL RELEASE FROM MPD:

MEMPHIS, March 7, 2014- On Thursday, March 6, 2014, at approximately 5:45pm, officers responded to a Shooting call at 530 Oak Court Drive, Oak Court Mall.

Upon arriving on the scene, officer located the victim, male, 22, lying on the ground inside the mall near The Loft store. The victim suffered from a gunshot wound and was transported in critical condition to the Regional Medical Center; he is now in stable condition. The suspects, described as 3-4 male Blacks, reportedly fled the scene after the shooting in a white Lincoln Town Car.

A broadcast was put out to the officers in the area when an officer observed a vehicle fitting the description traveling northbound on Oak Court. While waiting for additional officers, the officer followed the vehicle to the area of Goodlett and Tuckahoe where the vehicle was stopped. Officers recovered two handguns from the vehicle and four occupants were detained. Through a thorough investigation, investigators were able to determine that both handguns were stolen from other jurisdictions.

Dewon Avant, 19, female, 17, and two males, 17, were all charged with Theft of Property Over $500 and Unlawful Carrying or Possession of a Weapon. The driver of the vehicle, male, 17, was also charged with No Driver License.

At this point in the investigation, it appears that the aforementioned suspects were at the mall with the victim when the shooting occurred; they are not suspects in the shooting. The suspect responsible for the shooting remains at large.

This is an ongoing investigation.
