'Breather' app lets you book a space to... take a breather

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Do you need a place in the city to crash or hold a meeting? A New York-based service is allowing you to rent space in an office building, and it's all done by mobile app. It's called Breather. It allows you to unlock a space at any time.

A sunny space near Penn Station is the perfect spot for some "me time." And believe it or not, you can rent this space by the hour.

Packy McCormick is the NYC manager of Breather, a mobile-based service that lets you conveniently rent a space to have your own "time out." From the Breather app, you reserve the day and time you want, they give you a check-in code to enter at the door and voila: tranquility is yours.

Each space has free Wi-Fi, a desk, chairs and a couch. McCormick says the focus is on business or to unwind. But this of course raises the question of using the space for "hanky panky." McCormicks says that if you violate the term of agreement you get kicked off the system.

Rooms can be reserve for as little as 30 minutes to a few hours or an entire day. Rates start at $25.

Right now breather has three spaces for you to rent but they are expanding across the city throughout the rest of the year.
