TOONE, Tenn. (FOX13) -

We're learning more about the Kilgore plant explosion Saturday in Toone, Tennessee where one man died.

A safety report at Kilgore flares shows its violations with OSHA dating back to 1972 and someone has paid more than one million dollars in penalties since then. The reports range from one violation a year to more than 30.

In the most recent explosion, the ATF is calling it an accident. They say the explosion happened in the mixing room blowing out walls and causing a considerable amount of damage.

Kilgore released a statement which says in part, "Kilgore is dedicated to a 'safety first' culture and environment..  This includes: extensive training for all employees on an ongoing basis... safety briefings at *every all-employee meeting... regular safety management run-run throughs of the plant... and an immediate shutdown when any potentially unsafe issue is identified requiring immediate investigation."

Several federal agencies are still investigating the *cause of the accident a representative from OSHA tells us they expect to release their findings within the next six to eight weeks.
